Welter Family Farm - est. 2018

We’re a small, hardworking family in Grant Park, IL, raising three kids, four dogs, Roxy the horse, bees, chickens, turkeys, goats, pigs, and a thriving garden—all on a little slice of land we cherish.

How We Farm:

  • Hands in the Dirt, Not in Chemicals – We pull weeds (yes, by hand!), avoid pesticides, and never treat our bees with synthetic chemicals.

  • Homesteading Heart & Soul – Our animals roam, graze, and live as nature intended—with respect and care.

  • Real Food, Grown for Our Family First – We only sell what we don’t eat ourselves. If it’s on your table, it’s on ours too.

The "Organic" Truth:
We wish we could call ourselves "organic," but the label isn’t what it used to be. (See for yourself: USDA Organic Regulations | OMRI Approved List).

Our Exceptions (Because Farming Isn’t Perfect):

  • We occasionally spot-treat fruit trees (which we don’t sell) to save them from total devastation.

  • A single bottle of Sevin might come out for Japanese Beetles or Squash Bugs—but our kids prefer hunting tomato hornworms the old-fashioned way!

Why Trust Us?
We farm like it’s 1924, not 2024—prioritizing health, honesty, and hard work over shortcuts. Every egg, jar of honey, or cut of meat we share is grown the way nature meant it to be.

Come See for Yourself!
The best way to understand our farm? Visit, ask questions, and meet the crew (human, animal, and insect!). We’re proud to be connected to every bite—and to you.
